People take time to write their goals down and have the end result in mind and then get upset when it doesn’t work out. But why are we focusing on the end result when we set a goal? Is it necessary? I say no. Why not write down the goal and the steps it takes to achieve it? That is how you achieve success.

When we write down a goal, it is simply the destination. There are so many steps along the way to achieve our goal and we need to remember that we can take the time and plan each step. And if it veers off the path, we can change it if we need to. It’s our goal, we can do what we want with it. Why?

Just because we write down a goal doesn’t mean that we cannot change it along the way. We always need to make sure that the goal makes sense to us at the time that we are writing it down and check in along the way. We also need to check-in to see if it still going to be important to us in a year.

For my husband and I, our goal is to move to Florida in 3 to 5 years. But in order for that goal to become a reality there are steps that we have to take in order to achieve that goal.  We have written down the steps necessary to achieve our reality, so the timeline needs to be flexible and not exact, so we do we not set ourselves up for disappointment.

Determine where you want to go and then sit down with someone to help you determine the steps necessary and the milestones needed in order for you to achieve your goals.  As you start this process or are working through it and need help, I am here to support you in the process.

Once you write down your goals and the steps necessary to achieve them, you’ll be on your way to goal success and not goal let down.

 Until we meet again…
